Managing Partner, a.k.a. "golden opportunity to do good" fella

Gary's expertise and experience has been in international sales and account management. His personal dedication to health and to financial fairness for the middle guy drives his negotiation style with integrity and enthusiasm.

At the end of 2009 he completed a 23 year career as an International Lumber Trader. His passion for connecting more with people was then directed towards combining his extensive sales background with a practical product or service. Gary found himself in, of all businesses, in life planning and cremation services. It doesn't get more intimate and sensitive around health concerns than that. He found the work deeply satisfying but when the golden opportunity of Quality Medical Tourism presented itself, he decided to concentrate his expertise towards quality of life premortem instead of post.

The crossover for Gary is that he is still helping people find solutions to real life challenges. QMT has also allowed him to marry his talent for sales and cost effective strategizing for positive financial outcomes with his love for physical vitality. His fascination in the philosophies of ancient complementary health practices such as Yoga and Ayurvedic medicine help him maintain his balance in a busy world. He is a natural networker, leading with curiosity and genuine good will for those he connects with.

He is a tried and true Oregonian with a passion for Portland and all it has to offer.Yet, his bags are packed and he is ready to roll with QMT as a perfect synthesis of his primary drives of health, positively serving people, and business on a national and international scale.

About Us

Joy Farquhar, RN
Gary Oman

At Quality Medical Tourism we are dedicated to being the go to national and international medical tourism agency. Our passion for first, quality, and second, affordable healthcare stems from having spent time on both sides of the medical bedside. Our aim is to be supportive and informative health advocates for people facing the decisions and uncetainty that naturally come with planning for medical procedures without the added burden of worrying about ending up feeling financially unhealthy, or worse, dollar 'dis-eased'.

We view health as a system made up of six vital characteristics. Much like the human body, each characteristic is part of and affects the other. For instance, if a person has a chronically painful knee then they may not have the get up and go to do light exercise or go out dancing with their spouse. It just makes common sense but it can be easy to overlook systemic connectedness and how crucial these sections are to quality of life. The essential parts of this system we have named:

  • Physical Vitality

  • Emotional Contentment

  • Healthy Aging

  • Purposeful Productivity

  • Quality Connections

  • Financial Flexibility

Many of us do our best to keep these characteristics as balanced as possible. However, it is inevitable that when one area seriously impacts another it causes conflict, concern, and can make our lives feel out of whack. It is not uncommon for us to hear our clients say that just one procedure could set them way back, let alone the necessary time it takes to recover and get back on their feet.

We believe that everyone deserves health options and the opportunities to stay balanced, no matter what happens in their lives. Compassionate quality care from start to finish is essential so that we can all get on with living and still have the vitality, connections, and financial flexibility to do so.
